amd 64 bit processor new computer loading 11.04 version get kernel_thread_helper+0x6/0x10

Asked by martin johnson

I have a new computer with an amd 64 bit processor and Ubuntu 11.04 version when attempting to install all I get is kernel_thread_helper+0x6/0x10.

Is there something to upload that will enable me to install this version of ubuntu on my computer? What does ubuntu offer that can be used on a 64 bit amd processor?

Could be anything by doing a websearch with kernel message.
e.g.

Try '64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD' from there.

What does ubuntu offer that can be used on a 64 bit amd processor? All distro should work.

Please check first ISO and CD:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/CDIntegrityCheck
and report result.

At which step of install do you get the error ?

Can you help with this problem?
