Cant install ubuntu in my windows 7 laptop

Hi everyone. i want to install ubuntu in my windows seven laptop. but when i tried installing it using virtual box it said something about wrong kernel . i have a 64 bit windows 7 home premium. what do i do now ? pls help !

Your CPU probably doesn't support 64bit guest OS. Grab the 32bit ISO and use that instead. Remember to MD5 test the ISO you download...

You can use the iSO in virtualbox and install a virtual system. You will need to install the guest additions to get the full experience.

Do you use 64bits version of VirtualBox ? If not, you can only install 32bits OS.
Please, could you paste exact error message ?

@delance : how do i check if my virtual box is 64bit or 32 bit ? can u send me a link to dl 64bit virtual box ?

Hi Larsen, I think the one for Windows is for both 32-bit and 64-bit computers. If you could provide the exact error message and or a screenshot, better.

hey . thanks but i think i ve found the solution to it ! i made a bootable pen drive with the help of instructions from the ubuntu website . and now i am able to boot the OS live instead of installing it. and i also have the option of installing it once i run the IS live .
