installer crashed

Asked by WizaBlue

The installation was over when the window for "restart now" appeared. I pressed to restart ...then after some seconds I pressed to open the CD Disk in order to avoid to boot again from there. Was that my fault? What should I do now? Finally, the system didn't restart...I'm still on the "trying ubuntu" mode right now. Should I restart it and try again or it is safe to try again installation from here?

Please answer soon! :))
Thanks.

Concerning that the installer was crashed just after the installation was finished, what should I do now? :/ Is this bug a real problem? Or should I just continue as normal?

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you burn the CD as slowly as you could?

When you are through with install and hit restart it will prompt you to remove cd and then hit enter.
Do not have to do anything else.
If it was installed, it will be installed.
Boot and see if grub menu has it on top as the menu entry. If said installed then grub was placed in mbr. (master boot record)
Should not be a problem as per your opening post.

@actionparsnip:
I tested the iso. I confirmed the live cd at the end. Yesterday, I burned two or three live cds, in no other I had any problem.

@Richard Garvin, @everyone else:
Just to explain a little bit more:
I wanted to make a dual boot with windows7 + ubuntu. Before I had only windows7 so I made a backup of them with the thought to format all the disk.
I selected boot from the ubuntu live cd, tried ubuntu before installation, made the partitions for win7+ubuntu and then processed to the installation. The installation seemed to be over, the window for "restart now" appeared and pretty instantly while I pressed the "restart" button, I pressed also the button to remove cd(it didn't open by itself). After some seconds the message "installer crashed" appeared!

I rebooted twice and ubuntu was ok! So, I thought everything was ok.
But after I installed windows7, then the boot option for ubuntu disappeared! :(
Now I can only boot windows7 and my partition for ubuntu seems to be useless!
What should I do? Have to change only the grub? And how? :/

You have overwritten Grub2 bootloader by Windows bootloader (more exactly the MBR).
You need to reinstall Grub2 from CD: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Copy_LiveCD_Files
If you need help, please post partition table: https://answers.launchpad.net/grub/+faqs

Can you help with this problem?
