Installed ubuntu replacing windows wiped off the total hard disk

Asked by Madhan

I installed ubuntu replacing windows, by selecting the option "replace windows" but it wiped off the data from all drives in my hard disk. Now my hard disk is empty, I never expected this action. All important files are wiped off. Is it possible to get back those data :( Please help..

Use your data backups to restore the data. The 'replace windows' will remove all partitions from the destination drive (Windows incorrectly names partitions as drives. You may have one drive with 2 partitions and windows will see 'c drive' and 'd drive' which is false, there is only one drive with 2 partitions) and install ubuntu as the sole OS.

Can you help with this problem?
