Install Ubuntu on MeeGo

Is it possible to install and run (cleanly without any problems) the latest version of Ubuntu on an Intel MeeGo netbook, such as the latest ASUS Eee PC X101? I've seen some information regarding MeeGo on Ubuntu, but not the other way around. I'm looking to run Ubuntu solely on the netbook, not have a dual boot system.

Hello,

The Netbook that you mentioned will accept a full installation of Ubuntu, but this implies wiping Meego. You could try a dual boot but Ubuntu is much better than Meego.

You can try Ubuntu from the CD or USB stick without installing it. Boot from the CD or USB stick.

Hello, I had installed ubuntu on asus x101 and I have problems with resolution of display. I find some instractions in internet, which say to write in file: "/etc/usplash.conf" necessery resolution. It solve problem with resolution of screen, but not windows. To make windows resolution good this instraction say to delete excess resolutions in file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf". I haven't this file, so I diside to create it with this text :
"SubSection "Display"
  Modes "1024x600"
  EndSubSection".
after this ubuntu doesn't boot. I tried to boot in safe mode or somethig like that pressing buttoms beging F8 and edning F12. It helps. It boot terminal with black screen or something. With "--help" instractions I had deleted file that I had made "/etc/X11/xorg.conf". Everythig back to normal, besides this message (it's on russion and tell's that I have old verrsions of packets and new may solve problem): "Не удаётся сообщить о неполадке:

zenity, libjpeg-turbo8, libtiff4, zenity-common" and I still have problem with windows resolution. can you help me with this problem?
