how to create a USB stick to Boot 11.04

Asked by Stan

I am trying to find how to create a USB boot stick on a 4gb stick like I had for 10.10. I am using a Toshiba C650D and after 3 tries finally got 11.04 to load. Now I want a boot stick in case it crashes again.
Can any one help? Do I have to reload the hole thing over again every time It hangs? I may just go back to10.10 as I really don't like the glitzy look of this version anyway.

Hello,

To create a bootable USB install unetbootin from the Synaptic Package Manager or Ubuntu Software Center.

You can change the Unity desktop in 11.04 by going to System/Login and changing it to Classic. This is 11.04 but looks like 10.10.

Regards,

Allan :)

System->Administration->Make a boot disk. Use Ubuntu ISO image.

I did this with a 4gb stick and it worked with 10.10.
I am trying to do the same thing on 11.04, but it says that I need an 8gb stick. Has there been a change with 11.04?

A 700MB CD can hold 11.04 standard ISO image, so 4GB is largely enough (1GB is enough!).
Could you check size of ISO image ?
Could you check MD5 of ISO image : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Can you help with this problem?
