Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Are you wanting to use Wubi, or resize your NTFS partition to make space for Ubuntu in a true install?

the md5 test shows the same md5 hash, so I guess thats okay. what could be the problem? I downloaded 11.04 straight from ubuntu also.

That's fine. Are you installing the OS inside Windows or are you booting to liveCD to resize NTFS and install a true install? Where you download the image from is irrelevant, as long as it matches the hash then it is perfect.

Have a look at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9817690
Is it same issue ?

Can you help with this problem?
