disabling antivirus alongside install

I would like to install ubuntu 11.04 alongside my windows 7 64bit os, my concern is do i need to disable my current AVG security before i do so?

depends on how you intend to install ubuntu.

if you're installing from wubi, then you'll need to disable it first, reboot, then install via wubi, because avg will slow the installation down to a crawl.

otherwise, if you're installing ubuntu by rebooting and running off a cd or usb stick, there's no need to disable it.
