64 bit CD/DVD installation problem

Asked by Dr. Kisor Mukhopadhyay

I have an assembled computer with Intel DX58OG desktop board and intel core i7 processor. While installing Ubuntu 10.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso the following error message appears:

"(initramfs) mount: mounting/dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Input/Output error.
can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs. "

I burnt this .iso image file on CD and also on DVD, but it does not work. Even I tried with USB pendrive but it fails.

It should be noted that while I am trying to install Ubuntu-64 bit, power of Mouse and Keyboard disappears and the above message appeared.

Can anyone suggest so that I can install this OS.

Thanks in advance.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you burn the DVD as slowly as possible?

If the image is a DVD image, burn to DVD, if it is the CD image then burn to CD.
