Which is the latest version of Ubuntu that will works best with a Saitek X52?

Asked by Luis Arturo Pina III

I read that 10.04 is the last known version that works out of the box with the X52, i.e. the lights and multifunction display work properly as well as the controls. Furthermore, I want to use this with a Minimal Ubuntu version, but will use a full version as I don't expect that it'll work.

Try the Natty live CD to test.

You can install Ubuntu using the minimal ubuntu ISO which will give drivers, kernel and bootloader. You can then build up the OS from there. A full desktop in one install which is light is LUbuntu which uses LXDE as it's default desktop and openbox as the window manager.

Can you help with this problem?
