ubuntu on 1t memory doesn't load correctly. i don't want to never use again...what can i do?

with toot much memory mail didn't work , chat didn't go thru,
the documents [libre] didn't mail...it was 1/3 the program it is.
i don't want to leave and never use it again.
what can i do [as a BIGINNER] to fix the progam?
i think that's what went wrong....anyway....
what did i do wrong?

There may be a kernel option to put it into a mode for large memory configs. Forwarding this to a more relevant project.

Please install and use the 64 bits release of Ubuntu

http://releases.ubuntu.com/11.04/

Please download the iso using a torrent client and then open the:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/11.04/ubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent
