I downloaded Ubuntu11.04 and want to copy it to disk and run it. My CD door won't open and my old 9.05 disk is inside

Asked by Sue Ballard

How do I eject the disk and download 11.04 to a new diskette? My 9.06 is apparently flawed. I am afraid I will lose my connection to the internet if I eject it, but it will not open anyway. PLease help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell:
are you burning the 11.04 iso image to a cd... ?
are you working from an installed 9.04 Ubuntu... ?

What mean my old 9.05 disk is inside ... ? (right click on the cd icon in nautilus and select eject )

Please give us details...

I cannot find the nautilus icon, I cannot do anything right with this!
I WANT to burn a cd with the 11.04 Ubuntu on it, as a message said my 9.o6 has a defect. It won't install and stay. When I turn off the computer I lose everything and have to start over. I tried to put in windows xp to run in the background but I cannot get on the net with that. The Ubuntu works off the disk, but won't come out unless I turn off the puter. So no music cd's or anything. It's a mess!

Sue
If I understand your problem, you need to remove a CD from the CD/DVD drive. If your computer is a desk top, most CD drives have a small hole in the door. Unfold a paper clip, and push the end into the hole. It should open CD door. I do not have a laptop, so I don't know how they are made. I would think they would the same. Nautilus, I am on 10.10 or 10.04, I go to Places, Home Folder, on left side, a column, RIGHT click, DISC then eject.

Open a terminal Ctrl+Alt+T and run command "eject".
