sIMPLE DOWNLOAD UBUNTU.ISO FILE from its site. and create a Live CD,. Log on with the CD and give the 80 GB drive and just format.. simple. After that log on in Microsoft, use EasyBCD software which is free and you can see Ubuntu installed. Remove Mandrive from Booting options. So that you can only get Windows and Ubuntu..

Two solutions:
1) Will works
Boot on Ubuntu CD/USB stick.
Choose "Try" instead of "Install", then System->Administration->Gparted partition editor.
You will loose all your user files.
Erase Mandriva partitions (ext4 and swap).
Then reboot and choose "Install"
2) Never tested, but could work with 11.04
Boot on Ubuntu CD/USB stick, and choose "Upgrade system".
As both are Linux installation, it is POSSIBLE that Ubuntu installer will replace system files without touching user files.
I'm curious to know if it works. If you choose this solution, please post result.
