it freezes on the install

i click install and its is fine it will go to the page with the purple back ground with the four dots and it is fine then it will go to a black screen and freeze i am new to ubuntu and i was going to tell my friends but i am disappointed with ubuntu please help and i may consider telling my friends.

May be your disk is corrupted.
To check integrity of your iso file, you can compare md5sums on ubuntu website with MD5 of your iso.
Here is a quick tutorial for all OS to check MD5 of your iso: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM#MD5SUM%20on%20Windows.
