Download Ubuntu 10.04 and not 10.04.2

Asked by Albert Maria Selvan

Hi there!

I would like to download Ubuntu's server AMD 64 bit version 10.04 only. I do not want the 10.04.2 version which is currently made available in Ubuntu web site. Can you please let me know where I can download it from please?

The problem is that I am unable to install LSI's RAID controller SAS MegaRAID 9240-4i for RAID5 in a server running Ubuntu version 10.04.2 AMD64. It allows me to install RAID1 but not RAID5. I believe I have more or less excluded any hard drive issues. If someone can help me with that, I would be very thankful for your help. Please see my other thread detailing this issue.

I found some documentation that Ubuntu version 10.04.0 would let me install RAID5 using the above controller and hence my interest in downloading.

http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=ubuntu+10.04+server

One of these may be it. All the official sites have 10.04.2

As long as the file matches the MD5sum for the 10.04 ISO, it is fine to use.

Torrent sites like that will probably give you what you need, people may have ceased to seed it due to 10.04.2 being around. You get the idea

Thank you. Looks like I would have to install a s/w package to download from torrent. Also, there is an option to let me allow others to download from my machine. This is the first time I am downloading in this way.

I would understand if commercial enterprises always promoted their latest versions. Ubuntu being source should provide us download links for all versions.

What is MD5sum? I would appreciate your help. THe one I am trying to download is:
ubuntu-10.04-server-amd64.iso

Please read it as Ubuntu being open source should provide us download links for all versions.

Manfred, thank you!
Fantastic! So, Ubuntu lives up to its open source heritage making available older versions. Nice. Very nice. Thank you for the link. I do wish their home page or download page would have a prominent link to all the older versions at this page:
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/
Also, would be nice if we can just pick and choose the release version we want to download from Ubuntu's current download page itself.
Again, thank you Manfred.
