partition file share and encryption

Asked by Mary Pratt

I'm dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04, except I turned my computer off during an update of 11.04 so I can no longer log into it. Using Windows I downloaded DiskInternals Linux Reader 2.0 and am using it to get my home file off of my partition, except the files are encrypted. Does anyone know how I can decrypt them, or how I can get my files off of my partition without getting into Ubuntu?

Thanks

You can download Natty ISO image, boot on it (CD or USB stick) and choose "Upgrade existing Ubuntu". System files will be reinstalled and user files kept. But I don't know how it works for encryption. I hope providing same user name and password is enough.

Can you help with this problem?
