Ubuntu 11.04 won't load on Macbook 7.1

I need serious, immediate help with this because this is my only laptop and I need it for college.
My problem is Ubuntu 11.04 will not load AT ALL! I get the screen with the blinking line at the top left, then blank, then line, then blank, then some random coding, then blank, repeat. The Apple logo on the back lights up, then goes off repeatedly according to the sequence I just described above. I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone PLEASE help me?
