Ubuntu any version will not install. Debian 6.0 will

Asked by Boris Belchoff

I have a computer with Asus A7V 400 MX motherboard with a AMD 3000 cpu [2gh]. Ubuntu any version will not install. Debian . 6.0 will install and work. However I have problems with a lot of pictures and files downloaded from the internet. My ubuntu 11.04 on a different computer does not have these problems. I wonder if anyone has a idea about how i can install ubuntu. I believe something in the Bios is interfering with the set up.

Any help will be appreciated. However do not spent a lot of time working on this. I can live with it if necessary.

Boris

I have the problem solved, I loaded another hard drive on another computer, put it in the A7V 400 MX computer and every thing works, So I will be trying to locate the bios conflict.

I did not post the problems with debian, because I wanted to have ubuntu on all my computers with the same version. So I knew i wasn't going to keep debian, even if a new mother board & cpu was necessary.

Thank for trying to help
