Can't run ubuntu

Asked by Mirza Bećarvić

So I've downloaded the .iso and burnt it on a cd.But when I but up the cd I try to run the os directly from the cd.When I do that it starts to load ubuntu and then the screen gets black only with the mouse on it (I can move the mouse) and thats it, it stays so no matter how long i wait.
I have tryed to install it inside windows but again the same problem.

Did you MD5 test the ISO ?
Did you burn the CD slowly ?
Did you test the CD for defects once the CD started to boot ?

Try slower and be sure to MD5 test the ISO so you know the data you are using is complete and error free

Great. Please do these checks BEFORE you post. Bad media and bad ISO files will give a bad install experience.

What video chip do you use?

At boot of Ubuntu CD, press F6 and you should get a menu at right bottom of menu. Search nomodeset option.
