How to partition windows 7 ntfs for dual boot using latest install

Asked by Paul Wilson

Hi all, Im a complete novice to linux I am trying to dual boot ubuntu onto my win 7 notebook. All the reading I have done talks about a guided setup in ubuntu v10 the new release doesnt appear to have this option instead it takes me to a partition manager which is fine except how should I set the partition up ext4? what do i set in the format option it asks me to select directorys do I choose /boot?

Thanks for your patience with a complete novice.

In the installer you have the choice to install Ubuntu alongside windows. Choose that (I think it is the first option) and everything will be fine. If you don't know what to do, then go with the default.

Can you help with this problem?
