Hard disk not available during installation process

During the installation process of Ubuntu 10.10 I am able to only select 2 of the 3 SATA hard drives in my desktop to install Ubuntu to.

If I run Ubuntu off the live CD I can see the partition and hard drive I want to install ubuntu to in both Disk Utility and GParted, but when I go to install Ubuntu it does not give me the option of installing to the one hard drive.

The hard drive will mount and I can browse the filesystem on one partition on the drive (the second partition is empty, it is where I want to install Ubuntu to).

I've no idea why I can't select the hard drive for installation, but any suggestions are appreciated!

As I already mentioned, there seem to be several causes for this problem, so there is no straightforward answer. I'd advise you to try the various fixes proposed in this bug report:

Could you explain what final configuration you plan to have ?
