Netbook 10.10 says no UI config on boot

Asked by Brandon T Frazer

This is my first time using anything with Linux, so sorry if this sounds stupid.

I wanted to boot from the USB, I changed my boot order to boot from the USB, but when it tries to boot it says No DEFAULT or UI configuration directiong found! and then says boot:

I have everything loaded onto the USB, and did the USB loader for the ISO file. I can go into the USB if I'm in windows and actually get to it and get the menu where it tells me to run demo or install, so I know its on the USB. This is Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 on a Toshiba Netbook. So what am I missing? Thanks!

Did you MD5 test the .iso image before writing it to the USB flash drive? (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM)

How (i.e., what specific steps did you take, and if you followed a guide then please post a link to it) did you write the .iso image to the USB flash drive?

What is the make and model of your computer?

Also, what is the *exact* (letter for letter) text of that error message, which you see before it says "boot:"?

I got it, I had to clear everything off my flashdrive and just redo it all.
