Installer crashes right before compleation
Hello,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 64bit off a flash drive and the installer keeps crashing at the same place right at the tail end of the installation. The installer says that I should file a bug report then closes down.
Here's the last part of my my /var/log/syslog:

Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Jeff LePage (lepage-jr) said : | #2 |
Yes I did, everything matches up.
Also, I am able to boot into it fine but I don't know if I want to get settled into a unclean install. There must be a reason why it was crashing.
Ok so does the installer install everything including grub?
Jeff LePage (lepage-jr) said : | #4 |
Yeah grub seems to be fully installed and is able to boot both my windows vista partition and the ubuntu. Should I not worry about it? I just don't want to run into problems because of this down the road.
I'll guess at it being ok. Try booting and get fully updated. Unless you used the daily ISO, pretty much every package will need upgrading

You should have at bottom of page a button to raise a bug. I think you really encountered a bug in Python installation script.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Jeff LePage for more information if necessary.
