Installing ubuntu 10.10 netbook

Hey this is my first time installing ubuntu and when i restart my computer and boot it from my usb in the terminal thing it says (infitramfs) unable to find a medium containing a live file system. so can you please help me thanks.

Did you md5sum check the downloaded iso?

Did you burn the cd as slowly as possible?
Did you select the media check before trying to install to check the cd
 http://zootlinux.blogspot.com/2010/05/check-disc-for-defects-in-ubuntu-1004.html
Did you ever do a "memory check" (another menu choice) on your PC.
Doing the above can save you a lot of time struggling with a bad install media.
