That's probably the CD. Can you give the output of:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade

Thanks

Hi gary, I assume you're looking for the CD/.ISO image. You can get the one compatible for your desktop here: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/alternative-download#bt

I've pointed you to the torrent download as it is faster. Hope this helps.

However, depending on what it is that you want to do, that CD might or might not help you.

If you have an existing Ubuntu 10.10 system and you want to update it, then you should use the Update Manager. Similarly, if you have a previous release of Ubuntu (such as Ubuntu 10.04) and you want to upgrade it to a newer release (such as Ubuntu 10.10), you should use the Update Manager for that too. If you want to do one of those things and you're having trouble getting the Update Manager to do it, or you don't have an Internet connection on that computer with which to update using the Update Manager, then please post again (in this question, not by starting a new question).

If you don't know what you need to do but you have seen an error or other message with "ubuntu10.10_maverick meerkat_release i386 (2010)" in it, which has led you to think you need this CD, please provide the details so we can advise you.

Update manager, settings, Ubuntu software tab, uncheck the box for the cdrom on the bottom.

Can you help with this problem?
