Need help with installing Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop

trying to run a duel boot

I am having issues when installing the Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop. I have downloaded the .ISO download file and i have then ran this .ISO file on a virtual drive and then this had only let me either install it has an application on my Windows 7 or use the demo and let me fully install the OS through the demo, so i tryed the demo and it kept coming up saying it couldn't find the live system file, or something on those lines.
I then used the Windows 7 burn image application to burn this file to a CD-ROM which i did then places in my CD drive and when i rebooted my computer it then came up saying there was an issue when trying to load up saying load fail, or something on those lines again.

I just need help on how to get the file to load correctly onto my computer so i can do a duel boot

There are two options:
*Try to re-burn the CD. After burning it, insert the CD, and reboot your computer.
*Create an USB stick with Ubuntu. Instructions are here, in step 2: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download

I missed a thing: If you are re-burning the CD, try to do it at the lowest speed possible.
