Uninstall Ubuntu - recover MBR - Bitlocker issue

Asked by mike

I installed Ubuntu on my windows 7 laptop that uses Bitlocker and not I can't boot win7 without a recovery key... Looking for help.

More details:

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 from a USB key into a separate partition that I created on my hard drive. I did not do the "side by side" install. Love it so far...

My problem is when I try to boot to Windows. Instead of my normal message asking for by bitlocker password, I get a message telling me the boot record has changed and I need to reenter my recovery key. Problem is, I don't know what that is. What I'd like to do is to restore the system (I think I mean MBR, but I'm not sure) to the way it was before.

AWESOME!!!!!! Worked perfectly.

One alternate step I took was to create the required Win7 recovery disk from another Win7 PC.

Marking the problem as solved.
