installing Ubuntu without an internet connection
I have an internet connection at work but not at home. At work I put the files for the newest version of Ubuntu on to a USB flash drive. When I brought it home I had two problems: 1) even though in the BIOS setup I ordered the bootup list to first boot from the USB flash drive, when I turned on the computer it booted into Windows (Vista). Is there any way to get it to boot up from the flash drive so I can try the Ubuntu demonstration? 2) when I tried to install Ubuntu on my system alongside Windows at a certain point in the installation process the program tried to establish a connection to the Internet and as I don't have an Internet connection at home it couldn't. At that point the installer exited without installing Ubuntu. Can I intall without an Internet connection and if so how?
