I have tried to install ubuntu 10.10 but if i reboot ubuntu can´t log me in sometimes even the image doesn´t appear what can i do ?

I start the instalation like normal but if i have to reboot the system after the instalation SOMETIMES i can log on but mostly it shows me only the backround colours. there is only the backround but no icons. what can i do ?

Hi :)

Please can you tell us your machines specs? We just need Cpu speed and Ram size. Can you run a LiveCd session using whichever thing you used to run the installer?
