Crash on boot on Macbook

I'm trying to install UBUNTU on my Macbook along side my current OS X installation (Snow Leopard). I have used BootCamp to create another partition to install Ubuntu on, but every time I try to start up using the ubuntu disc it gets past the menu where I select instal and then nothing. Can anyone please me?
