I mean reset or format as in mobile phones .nokia *#7370#.thanks.i dont have any issues now.

There is no restoration mechanism in Ubuntu.
If you have not yet installed Ubuntu, you can make a dedicated /home partition, so you will be able to reinstall system in its partition without changing your data and configuration.
If you have yet installed, you could make a copy of partition an a backup.

backup your data on home directory and files on other drives such as films,songs and documents and reinstall the os,if you are expecting something like xp's restore last working session after crash etc then i am sorry ubuntu still hasnt made a look at this area yet.
