unable to install showing error just after booting

message coming just after booting is "can not mount/dev/loop0(cdrom)/casper/filesystem.squashfs)on//filesystem.squashfs"
actually win xp has been installed before.what might be problem.

There could be many sources.
First check MD5 of ISO : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
If you used a CD, try with a USB stick (and vice-versa).
Win XP is not the problem.
Did you try to installe Ubuntu inside Windows (Wubi) or alongside (dual-boot) ?
