I have a MacBook Pro with OSX10.4.8. After I burned Ubuntu on a disc and restarted, it did not run automatically. When I clicked on the icon of the Ubuntu burned disc, it says I dont have a default app to run it

Asked by Karla Pecho

I went to the Ubuntu website and downloaded the operating system. Before downloading, the computer warned me that it might require an application and asked if I wished to proceed. I clicked OK.

After it fully downloaded, I burned it on a disc.

Then, I reinserted the disc and restarted the computer.

My normal desktop appeared on the screen instead of the Ubuntu instructions for installing.

I clicked on the icon of the Ubuntu burned CD on my desktop and clicked on the file that said autorun.

The file said it did not have a default application to run the system and that I should choose an application.

I don't know where I should go from there.

The disc runs at boot time, You need to hold down the special key combination on apple macbooks to enable CD boot.
