Install freezes on who are you, forward buton does not light up

Asked by souprebel

It was downloaded onto a disk. It worked for trial and use of internet.
Now is froze on who are you page.
I did NOT chk MD5. I have no idea how to , the instructions are alot of stuff that I don't get. The disk is in my other computer and I thought this would be a bit easier than this . VERY FRUSTRATING!
Please help in the simplest terms possible.
If I take out the disk now will it " hurt" my computer?
Can I pop it out and put it right back in? Try it again?
Arrrgh!!

Your username cannot contain spaces or uppercase letters. Use only lowercase a-z. This will cause the button to activate.

Future versions of ubuntu have been modified to give either notify about or disallow non a-z names.

Thank You!!!!
That was it for now!!!
I hope anything else will be that fast!!
I'm too old for this :)
it is now installed-
the last thing it did after I hit restart was give this message

[5621.498776] end_request I/O error dev sr0,sector 537392

so I shut it off. I turned it back on and ubuntu came up. Is this a fake out and it really did not install properly?

You can ignore those I/O errors, which are harmless. The fact that you
see them is bug 628630.
