I'm not able to install Ubuntu

Asked by Jeff Matzke

I am currently trying to install Ubuntu onto my new homebuilt PC. Its starts up fine with the Ubuntu loading screen, but after awhile my computer screen looks like this: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d37/Jeff_Matzke/IMG_0033.jpg

Here are the specs of my system:
Intel Core i5-661 3.33 GHz processor
Intel Desktop DQ57TM motherboard
8 GB OCZ DDR3 Memory
EVGA GeForce 240 PCI Express 2.0 512 MB DDR5

I have tried loading it from a CD and a USB drive, in 32 and 64 bit. It always does the same thing.

Thanks

One other solution is to download the Alternate CD of Ubuntu. This one is not GUI based and tends to bypass any problems the Desktop CD has with graphics.

Can you help with this problem?
