1. BIOS is trying to boot from CD? BIOS is sett up to boot from CD?
2. try booting from that CD on any other computer, just to see if there is something wrong with the CD

Hi again and thanks for the responce
The cd is bootable on my desktop and the laptop boots ok from other cds.
I gess im more confused now.

Maybe the bios is outdated and ignores certain otherwise bootable cds....
Thanks

Could be an hardware issue. Perhaps both CD and laptop CD drive are unclean.
Please check state of CD and clean CD drive.
If it fails, burn another CD and try again.
Booting from CD is a very old functionality.

Where exactly does it stop..

Do you see a message on screen, "SYSLINUX..."?
Do you hear the CD spin up?
