Did you MD5 test the ISO you downloaded?
Did you burn the CD slowly?
Did you check the CD for defects once initially booted to?

You state you are using the CD ISO, yet your question header mentions the DVD ISO. They are VERY different, which one is it?

Thanks

It's not a DVD but a CDrom I cut. Can't boot from the start. How to MD5 test? Just ran utility to verify data after the CD was cut n it's OK. I have burn CD on 12x speed n it's stable without any errors.
Is CD image bootable? I am trying to install over a Red Hat partition on my harddisk, but since it can't boot, must I load redhat n install in Redhat OS?

Instead of asking how to MD5 test. You could have websearched and found out yourself! You would not only learn something about your OS for yourself but also get things moving faster and make you more autonomous. You wiould have found guides like this:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

If you didn't MD5 test the ISO, how did you know it was complete and error free???

Yes the image is bootable, you tell your burning app to burn the image as it stands and does not need extracting or manipulating in any way to work as expected. The CD self test should also be done after burning the tested image. A good CD can only come from a good image so you got lucky this time.

What happens when you try to boot the CD? What happens on screen? You never stated in your initial question.

Thanks

CDrom doesn't load. No CDrom light n blank screen. Goes straight into HD OS.

how did you burn the CD. What steps? What options and such?

If you burned the ISo to the CD so that in windows when you view the contents of the CD you only see a single ISO file, it isn't right. The ISO needs to be opened with the burner so that the boot details and individual files appear on the disk. What do you see when you view the CD contents in Windows?

A single iso file. Can't view any files or boot details.

Then thats why. The CD isnt burned right. When you view the CD you should see lots of files. You have clearly selected to burn a data disk then selected the ISO file and got a disk with one file rather than many.
What burning app do you use in Windows?

I think I try burning another copy n try installing it all over again. I think I know what the issue is.
Thank you very much, u have been a great help.

with nero, you burn by copying a "disc image"
the iso file is called a disc image.
as actionparsnip said, once the image is burned, you should see lots of directories and files.

@actionparsnip
well, windoze users don't know how to look for drivers, but linux users don't know how to do internet searches for things. they've been spoiled with the repositories. haha
