want to know what brand of used laptops work good with ubuntu or a list of those that don't . Maybe the chip sets that will work or those that won't. thanks bob

No single brand works universally well. There are various models within each manufacturers range and each will have differing degrees of ease to get all the hardware working. The guides below will help:
