Unable to see Ubuntu USB in apple startup disks selection

Asked by Garrick Lyng

I've followed the instructions for making a USB drive from the iso image for apple to the letter, but when I insert the drive, turn on the computer and hold alt(option), the normal startup disk selection screen appears with no Ubuntu usb drive visible. Any thoughts on this conundrum?

Also, when checking the disk info with diskutil info command, it shows the disk is not bootable

Did you MD5 test the ISO before using it?

You could have websearched this yourself to find guides. This would make the process a lot quicker, plu you would learn more.

Here is a guide:

You have failed to test the ISO so you have no way of knowing if it was complete or consistent.
