Unable to use live Ubuntu-desktop-10.10 CD

I have created and checked a live CD from the current iso.

The CD starts, displays the purple splash screen with the word ubuntu and the 5 dots are scanning for about 10-15 seconds.
Next a black screen displays the following:

BusyBox v 1.15.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.15.3-1ubuntu5) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of commands.

(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Input/output error
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

By the way, my Knoppix live CD 6.2 works without trouble.

Did you MD5 test the ISO?
Did you burn it as slowly as possible?
Did you check the CD for defects once initially booted?

Looks like a corrupted CD.

Hi all
Thankyou for reminding me to never trust a file to download correctly and checking it before burning the image.
I have downloaded another iso file and this one works 100%
