need to know if my laptop is compatible with ubuntu

iam intrested to install ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop but i need to know if my laptop compatable with ubuntu .my laptop is (hp pavilion entertainment pc dv 6700) so pleas am waiting for your response .

It'd be a bit silly if you WEREN'Twaiting for a response.....

If you download, MD5 test and burn SLOWLY an Ubuntu desktop ISO, you can test the OS yourself. It will not modify your installed OS and you can install restricted drivers and such to make stuff. All you cannot do is reboot (unless you use a USB stick and make a persistent install, then changes will stay)

it's a general way of talking for people in that culture.

to add to actionparsnip's advice, you will need to install ubuntu on a usb flash drive. instructions on how to do this are given on the download page.

Boot on CD/USB key and choose "Try without install", then System->Administration->Test System
