Driver Support in HP Pavillion DV4

Asked by hasibthedevil

I'm using HP Pavillion dv4 1301tx laptop. Is it possible for me to get all the Drivers like for the touchpad, remote control, touch keys, display, wifi, bluetooth, etc..

I've searched HP's driver site, but they only have drivers for Windows Vista n Windows 7.

Will those drivers work in Ubuntu?

Hi. I have an HP Pavilion dv3 notebook and all drivers worked out of the box except for the remote control and the screen brightness control. I did some tweaking to fix the screen brightness http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10022389&postcount=3 and it worked.

You can check if there's any driver that needs to be installed in System > Administration > Hardware Drivers.

you can always do the trial version to see what works and what doesn't work. and most drivers can be downloaded from the net.

If you use trial version, it's better to make a USB key with persistence than a CD, so you could debug driver issues without installing Ubuntu on disk, but from one boot to another one, you will keep the packets/drivers you installed.

Can you help with this problem?
