problem in installing ubuntu 10.10

While installing Ubuntu 10.10 in last stage 'Who you are' it not enabling forward option

For user name, only use lower case characters, digits, '-' and underscores.

Does Ubuntu show "failed to initiate AP scan" in "Who you are'" ?

"failed to initiate AP scan" is a network issue.
I think you will have to restart installation.
If you have issues with your network, you can, at start of installation, ask to install without network. And after installation, after few minutes, Ubuntu will ask you to update packets from network. So if network fails again, you will not have to reinstall again from CD.
