If you run:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get --reinstall install ubiquity

Then run the installer, is it ok.

Did you MD5 test the ISO you burned?
Did you check the CD for defects?
Did you test your RAM for errors?

Hello,

You need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD. After a reboot follow the install instructions.

Allan :)
