i can not install things on ubuntu. I am running it of a usb can i make my usb so i can use it like the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop Edition USB Key

So you have the OS installed to USB in a persistant install or did you just transfer the ISO?

I have installed it on my usb with Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.1.0
I want to use my usb so i can have programs and aplications saved to it my usb so i can go from computer to computer with all my files and stuff saved on ubutu without having to re-install every thing.
so for example if I want to use it at school (which are windows 7) I have all my saved files like playonlinux.

Ok then you can only really use that to install from, you need a different method:

I have tried using the ubuntu installer but it doesnt let me select my usb

also can i boot it on a old emac?
