Asked by Vignesh G

Dear Sir,
I am using an laptop, SONY VAIO VPCEB26FG, on following configuration...
Core i3 processor(64 Bit), 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD,

But when i see in System Monitor, under System Tab it shows only GB RAM...

I might think this is because of 32Bit OS. So please help to upgrade to 64Bit OS.

In addition with this, How to upgrade my current edition to Netbook Edition.

Thanking You,
Vignesh.G

In your case it's not needed to switch to 64bit. You can use physical address extension, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EnablingPAE
Changing your desktop to netbook edition is a matter of sudo apt-get install ubuntu-netbook. You aslo may need to switch to netbook session in session chooser on login screen.
