I presume you have two NTFS partitions, sda1 and sda2 for both Windows Seven and its recovery.
The best is to make three partitions.
As you will have five partitions, you will need an extended one.
So I propose you:
1) To reduce your last NTFS partition, to free space.
2) To make an extended partition, which will hold all Linux partitions
3) To make a swap partition of the size of your RAM or 2GB if you have less than 2GB of RAM. This one is used for virtual memory.
4) To make an ext4 partition of 10GB, on which will be mounted "/" folder. It will holds system files.
5) With remaining space, make an ext4 partition, on which will be mounted "/home" folder, which holds user's folders.

Be VERY careful on partitioning.
