Asked by mojsadr

error with copying files to the hard disk when i am installing Ubuntu to my laptop:

[Errno 5] Input/output error:

This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.

and this is My laptop:
Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology featuring Intel® Core2™ Duo processor T5450 – 1.66 GHz, 15.4” WXGA TFT w/ TruBrite™, 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD S-ATA, DVD Super-Multi Double Layer, Modem, LAN, Intel 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless, IEEE 1394, TV-out, Windows® Vista Business.

"Before this i couldn't install Win XP on my laptop too!" => In this case, looks more like a hardware issue with CD drive.
Try with a USB key

@Torsten: could you check MD5 of ISO : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
@both: some people succeed by using "alternate" version: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/alternative-download
