Problem with install

Asked by Cal Hosman

I am trying to install Ubuntu on an older Toshiba laptop with an Intel Celeron processor. It followed the steps on GraphicalInstall through step 7. After I entered the information in step 7, I got a red bar at the bottom indicating it was copying files. About 3/4 of the way across, it stopped and gave me a "Ready when you are" message but I cannot click Forward and nothing is happening. I cannot click Forward because it is faded, not available.

How do I continue the installaion? Cal

I was able to install Ubuntu and re-start without the disk and login. However, once I have logged in, I only get a blank screen with some colors on it. Nothing else happens. What do I do now? Thanks for your help. Cal
