can not keep adobe flash player to stay on the usb drive that I boot Ubuntu up to.

Asked by mark swift

I downloaded the new Ubuntu 10.10 on to a USB flash drive so that I could boot it up to a lap top that has no hard drive. It works fine, but every time I reboot up the flash drive and start to watch a video I have to keep installing the adobe flash player. Is there a way to keep the aplications that I download to stay on the flash drive so I don't have to keep installing them every time I boot up to Ubuntu?

Mark,

If you are using a LiveUSB then all changes are lost after reboot.

It is possible to do a real install onto a USB key (where changes will be saved) - NOTE: be sure to move Grub onto the USB on the last screen click the "advanced" button I believe.

Good luck,
George

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ allow you to create a Live USB key, which remind all changes (I never tested it, I should!).

Else the key made from ISO file can remind some data, if when you made it you selected "Persistent" in Unetbootin. But I don't know the extent of this functionality, as I presume it is designed to help to install Ubuntu by keeping some drivers and tools.

N.B.: Live USB key originaly designated key into which Ubuntu is installed. And was extended to Ubuntu installation key, as they allow option "Try without install".

Can you help with this problem?
